If you watched Katy Perry close out the MTV Video Music Awards this past Sunday, you may have noticed a scruffy, handsome lad dancing behind the singer. The man happens to be Lockhart Brownlie. Thanks to Tumblr, Brownlie caught the attention of Queerty and we thought we’d share him with you.
As it turns out, the Tasmanian dancer has been working with Perry for a awhile. He spent ten months on the road during the California Dream’s World Tour and later starred in the 3D movie, Katy Perry: Part of Me. However, he’s not exclusive to Perry. He’s also danced with Ke$ha at the American Music Awards and Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards.
But it’s not easy work. According to Brownlie, prepping for tours means training for up to eight hours a day for six days of the week. And production rehearsals can last as long as 14 hours. Whew!
Fans of the dancer may have also seen him on television in bit roles on Glee season 4 and the fifth season of True Blood. On Glee, he showcased his dance moves during the Americano-Dance Again number with Kate Hudson. He’s also been featured in Taylor Swift’s music video for “22.”
At the age of 23, Brownlie has traveled the world, hung out with your favorite queens, and met President Obama. Oh yeah, and looks great in a Speedo. What’s not to love about this guy?
Seriously, dead.
