We went behind the scenes with Joe Kinosian and Brett Ryback, the stars of the hit musical comedy Murder for Two, currently playing off-Broadway at New World Stages. The 90-minute zany blend of classic musical comedy and madcap mystery written by Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair and directed by Scott Schawartz. In the show, everyone is a suspect when small town policeman Marcus Moscowicz (Ryback) investigates the murder of Great American Arthur Whitney. Kinosian plays all of the suspects, including Dahlia Whitney (Arthur’s wife) Barrette Lewis (a prima ballerina), and Dr. Griff (the local psychiatrist). These adorable actors play the piano and sing their hearts off the entire show, delivering powerful and hysterical performances in the vein of Carol Burnett and Steve Martin. Life backstage is just as colorful as onstage. We caught the guys getting into makeup, going over the winners in their company Oscar pool, and goofing off while stretching and warming up.
